Rowing was first included in the Canada Games at the 1969 Canada Summer Games in Halifax-Dartmouth. It has grown from five male-only disciplines to six disciplines contested by both males and females, more than doubling the medal total from 1969.
Each province and territory is allowed one entry per event. Teams will be limited to 14 male oarspersons/scullers and 14 female oarspersons/scullers, plus two coxswains of either sex; 30 competitors maximum per team.
