A Holiday Poem (A revival from years past)

Twas the night before Christmas and all through the Boathouse

The were a humming to the sounds of Struass.

The shells were slung on the stretchers with care

In hopes that St. Nick could some how repair.

Another erg done had me wanting a nap

What was I thinking.  This boy was fat.

I got ready to leave and put on my coat

This boy was struggling his body was toast.

When all of a sudden there rose such a clatter

I grabbed an oar before pursuing the matter

When what to my weary eyes should appear

Was Mr. Peter Walsh the ARA’s fearless leader.

He was seen dancing with his executive team.

And for good reason, in 2021there was a a season

With a record 9 medals at a regatta in Victoria

Had the provincial sport organization in a state of euphoria.

And then in a twinkling I heard a knock on the door

The sport organization knew it could do even more.

As I drew in my hand and was turning around.

The 2022 Canada Summer Games were nearly abound.

And now before us 2022 is now days away

And a whole new set of opportunities and challenges to weigh.

The ARA is aware that expectations are high

With athletes like you who reach for the sky.

To everyone in the ARA all the best this holiday season

CANADA SUMMER GAMES

The ARA is planning to host a CSG winter camp in Victoria British Columbia from February 18-21, 2022.  Invites will be granted to those who meet certain erg deliverables.  Please stay tuned for details which we hope to be forthcoming by January 1, 2022.
