A Holiday Poem
Tis the 25th day of December and a year to remember.
Davo stepped back and retired; a legacy of athletes to whom he inspired.
The CRC had a quite the year; with a few Henley medals as a souvenir
The Rustlers in Burnaby, returned home with Novice gold and glory
Lets not forget about the Dino girls; with a bronze medal at Boston’s Charles.
Athletes from Central Alberta were a prominent fixture, in the prairie regatta picture.
The ERC had an athlete at Worlds in Austria, who returned home with a silver and rowing euphoria.
If you need any more reason; to think 2019 was a great season
Jessie and Jessica medals in Peru; and athletes we can all look up to.
Kasia, Nesbitt, Lefsrud, Ames, Hare and Hall; representing Canada this spring and fall
And how about those at NRC? Three gold and two silvers for athletes in Calgary and the ERC
Walsh and his executive have good reason to cheer; but now look ahead as 2020 is near.
The ARA is aware that expectations are high, with athletes like you who reach for the sky.
The ARA thanks all of its member clubs and of course its coaches, officials and volunteers who have made 2019 a season to remember.
ARA Visits
As noted in the November 2019 ARA Report, the ARA has begun to organize some camps in preparation for the 2021 Canada Summer Games. For the first of these camps the ARA is hoping that it can monitor 6K tests that athletes will be permitted to utilize as part of its RADAR Submission. With this in mind the ARA is looking to Saturday January 25th Or Sunday January 26th as an opportunity to monitor tests in Edmonton and Saturday February 1, OR Sunday February 2 as an opportunity to monitor tests in Calgary. The ARA will work with your coaches to determine an appropriate time.
