If you are an Alberta athlete and interested competing in the 2014 National Rowing Championships in Victoria, British-Columbia – this notice is for you.
To assist you in rendering a decision as to whether or not you wish to attend, please read over this NRC 2014 Alberta Rowing Association Funding document. This document outlines how athletes can qualify for funding assistance to attend the 2014 National Rowing Championships. That said, it does not preclude one from attending. Athletes who wish to attend the 2014 NRC Event are free to do so under the ARA banner, but will be required to adhere to the payment stream as identified in the above mentioned document.
To assist us here at the ARA we ask that all athletes inform us of their intention to attend no later than October 18, 2014 via email to albertarowing@gmail.com. Earlier is better.
For Athletes who wish to get a jump on plans we provide you with the following information:
- The regatta runs from Friday November 7 through to 9. In years past the regatta concludes at noon on the Sunday (November 9). We would encourage athletes to book flights arriving in Victoria some time on Thursday November 6th (Morning is preferable) which will give you time to get a row or two in. Flights home should be booked for Sunday November 9th (After 3:00pm).
- Boats will be departing from Calgary on October 22nd. If you wish to get your boat on the trailer it will have to be in Calgary on the 22nd. Edmonton Athletes can opt to transport their boats out to Gorge / Elk on the Edmonton Trailer and simply transfer their boats once in Victoria.
- If you require a boat for the event, please let us know ASAP via email at albertarowing@gmail.com
