Western Canada Summer Games

The Western Canada Summer Games (WCSG) is a multi-sport inter-provincial competition held every 4 years that provides development opportunities for amateur athletes. The 2019 Games are to be held in Swift Current, Saskatchewan and will represent the first opportunity our athletes have to showcase their talents in the lead-up to the 2021 Canada Summer Games. To assist with preparation for this event the ARA will be hosting a series of camps over the course of the next 6 months. The first of these camps will be held on Friday September 28th, 2018

Camp Details:
Date: Friday September 28th, 2018
Location Calgary Rowing Club – Athletes to meet in the singles bay
Time 7:00pm to 9:00pm

Athletes:
This camp will be open to all interested athletes – 17 years of age or younger as at December 31, 2018. No rowing experience is required. The ARA encourages all age eligible athletes to attend this camp. To register simply email albertarowing@gmail.com confirming your interest so the ARA can have a clear idea of numbers prior to the event

Camp Structure:
The camp will be a dryland camp only. We will not be going on the water. Athletes will be given technical help on the erg and will go over some basics of winter training. The camp will also go over expectations of athletes in the coming year and give some insight into the games themselves. The camp will conclude at 9:00pm sharp. Athletes will be asked to bring with them workout clothing and a water bottle. Nothing more.
